When you love someone, truly love them, you can't just turn it off.

Well you can, but you'll always regret it.  That's because true love, the way God intended, is a choice to act, not just a feeling.  Sure, you can change your mind, but what would that say about you?  I wrote about it four years ago.  St Paul explained it much more eloquently, and his words are used in a lot of wedding ceremonies: 1 Corinthians 13:4-13.  (Too bad so many people who recite them during their vows don't take them seriously!  Oh, how much I applaud the ones who do, who recognize them as not only vows to their spouse, but also vows to the LORD.)

What can you do when you've wronged someone?  Apologize.  Pray.  Forgive yourself.  Repent (decide never to do that again).

What can you do when you've been unjustly accused of something?  Keep your head high, and LOVE THEM ANYWAY:  [The original version by Dr. Kent M. Keith]   [The paraphrased version by Mother Theresa].

I'm not saying I am 100% true to all of this all of the time, I'm human and far from perfect.  But it's something I aspire to, for sure!  I think the world would be a much better place if everyone did, but I do remain true to myself and admit my faults as well as my strengths.

And so I continue on my quest to continually grow as a human being, never reaching the mark that Jesus Christ set for us, but striving nonetheless.

Before and after I was saved:

BEFORE............ AFTER..................
Hold a grudge Forgive (Take this quiz)*
Angry A lot more peaceful (although I sometimes get frustrated when I forget to be content and when someone attacks me or someone else)
Fearful Courageous (because I am weak and He is strong)
Pessimistic Healthy balance of optimism and pessimism
Distrustful Trust first and give three chances*

*Some people say
Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me
 but I say
Hurt me once, hurt me twice, but shame on me if you hurt me thrice
(paraphrased from Nabil N. Jamal's Fool me quote)

Sorry Holywell, but ...

From Venmore Commercial real estate agents: "Holywell is a smaller market town with a rural character, but without significant charm. It is conveniently located close to the A55 Chester to Holyhead dual carriage way, which allows easy access to the main employment areas around Chester and the Dee Estuary. The nearest railway station is at Flint, with connections to Chester and all the major towns of North Wales."

Yadda yadda yadda!

I had a blog before they were even "invented" (http://clairestreb.brinkster.net/thoughts.html).
